SCHOOL INTRODUCTION 

The New Era International School, an international school under the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, was established in November 2010 and is the first Mongolian state-owned international school to provide English and Mongolian language training under the Cambridge International Program. Currently, the school offers Cambridge International Checkpoint, IGCSE, AS, and A level training, and conducts international examinations with the official MN011 code issued by the Cambridge International Examination Center (CIE).

BRIEF HISTORY

  • 2010.03.25.  Teachers and administrators of the New Era International Laboratory School of the MECS have been certified.

  • June 2010.  Teachers of the New Era International Laboratory participated in the summer English EXEL program.

  • June 2010.  In India, teachers attended a three-month English language course.

  • 2010.11.22  The first class of the New Era International Laboratory School of the MECS has started.

  • 2010.02.23.  Became eligible to implement 11 courses of the Cambridge International IGCSE Curriculum.

  • February 2011.  Teachers participated in the Cambridge International IGCSE online training.

  • March 2011.  An IT teacher D.Delgertsetseg participated in the ICT training in Russia.

  • 2011.04.13.   A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Government of Mongolia and the Cambridge International Examinations Center of the University of Cambridge on “Updating Primary and Secondary Education Standards and Curricula”.

  • June 2011.  Students of the school participated in the “Summer sampler-2011” English language training.

  • 2011.10.15.  The school's Mathematics, Physics, Geography, and English teachers and the school principal participated in the Cambridge International Teachers' Regional Training in Beijing, China.

  • October 2011.  R.F. Smith, Cambridge International Consultant, conducted training for the school's faculty and administrators.

  • October 2011.  International “New Beginning” and “Mongolian Aspiration” laboratory schools were established.

  • November 2011.  Teachers and students of the new school participated in the English language vacuum training at the Golden Bridge Center.

  • 2011.11.07.  A new building of a New Era international school has been commissioned.

  • 2011.12.10.  Teacher Ts. Lkhamsuren participated in the international festival in Singapore with her students.

  • 2012.01.30.  New Era International Laboratory has organized a “Student's Day” dedicated to the Teachers' day.

  • 2012.02.06.  Officials of the Ministry of Finance got acquainted with the activities of the New Era International School.

  • 2012.02.07-08.  The “Anti-Corruption Education” training for secondary school teachers was organized in cooperation with the Consulate General of the United Kingdom, The Asia Foundation, the Anti-Corruption Agency, and the UBC. The Ambassador of the United Kingdom participated in the training.

  • 2012.02.09-13.  A “Project Course Training” was organized at the “Friendship” Center of the FMA.

  • 2012.03.14.  Training for university administrators and teachers was organized in cooperation with the University of Cambridge.

  • 2012.03.22-26.  The “Cambridge Standards Primary and Secondary Education Reform Policy” program and methodological training were organized. The training was attended by 330 teachers and administrators from 21 provinces and national laboratory schools in Ulaanbaatar.

  • 2012.03.12-16.  Roger Franklin Smith, Cambridge International Consultant, organized the Leadership Training for the leaders of the New Era, New Beginning, and Mongolian Aspiration international schools of the MECS.

  • 2012.04.02-21.  In New Era international school, the “School management cycle” was organized for teachers, students, and parents, and a strategic plan for the school was developed with the participation of teachers, students, and parents.

  • 2012.04.05-08.  Organized training on the “Cambridge Standards Primary and Secondary Education Reform Policy” program and methodological training. The training was attended by 488 people from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the State Inspection Agency, the Ministry of Education and Science.

  • March-June 2012.  Cambridge International Program Consultants (mathematics, chemistry, physics, English) were working.

  • 2012.04.24.  Teachers of mathematics, business studies, physics, and chemistry participated in the AS program training in Guangzhou, China.

  • 2012.05.11.  The “Evening of Classical Music” was organized at the New Era International School in cooperation with the professional “Art Zone” music agency.

  • May-June 2012.  For the first time, students of the New Era International School took the Cambridge International Examination. Twenty-seven students took 57 exams in IGCSE's Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, English, and computer science, of which 47 passed with A*, A, and B grades.

  • 2012.06.15-22. Teachers and staff of the school had a vacation on Lake Baikal in Buryatia, Russia.

  • 2012 June 29-July 26. In cooperation with the English Language Institute of the United States, summer training for teachers and students was organized at the Tsagaan Nuga summer camp.

  • 2012.07.05-07.11.  In Beijing, China, students studying IGCSE geography, conducted a research of the Central Business District.

  • 2012.07.24-07.30.  The Korean Robot Association, in cooperation with the MECS, successfully organized the Mon Robot International Robotics Competition. 33 students and 11 teachers from Korea, 66 students and 16 teachers from Mongolia participated in the competition and 4 students and 2 teachers who won the first place were eligible to participate in the competition in Korea.

  • August 2012.  Training on “National Trainer Training Levels 2 and 3” and “Primary and Secondary Education Reform Policy” were organized. A total of 1,000 teachers participated. 

  • 2012 August 27-September 13.  Cambridge International Consultants provided training in IGCSE's Music, Art & Design, Physical Education, Design & Technology, ICT, Geography, and Business Studies at the New Era International School.

  • 2012.08.28-30.  “Civic Education” NGO organized a training on “Ecological Education” at the New Era International School.

  • 2012.09.01.  The opening ceremony of the 2012-2013 academic year of the New Era International School took place. The opening ceremony was attended by MP Yo. Otgonbayar.

  • November 2013.  E. Enkhtsatsralt, 10th grade student, received  WORLD TOP GRADE in the International IGCSE Mathematics Exam.

  • 2014.01.20-26.  The “Mogul” team of international laboratory schools successfully represented Mongolia at the “Robotic Championship” 2014 in South Korea and was named the “Most Advanced Team” and received a trophy and a certificate.

  • May 2014  B. Chintushig won a gold medal at the National English Language Olympiad.

  • 2014.05.30.  20 students have successfully completed the first 12th grade of the New Era international laboratory school of MECS.

  • 2014.  For the first time, teachers and students of the school represented Mongolia in the World Geography Olympiad.

  • October 2014.  From January 1, 2015, the Cambridge International Examinations Center provided consulting services on “How to evaluate the staff of an international school” and “How to ensure the quality of school activities”. Introduced a new standardized assessment system.

  • 2014.11.27.  B. Ariunbolor, a robotics teacher, represented the school at the World Robot Olympiad in Sochi, Russia, and became a member.

  • January 2015.  For the first time, the students participated in the Robot Football Tournament in Yokohama, Japan, and an agreement was reached to participate in the future International Robot Football Tournaments in Japan.

  • 2015.04.14-18.  Five teachers of the school participated in the Cambridge International AS / A training held in Beijing, China, and confirmed their international rights.

  • 2015.04.14-25.  Teachers and students of the school successfully represented Mongolia for the first time at the International Children's Art Festival in Antalya, Turkey.

  • April 2015.   The New Era Alumni Association was established and the Student Advisors was selected.

  • 2015.05.11-20.  In cooperation with the Mongolian National Television, the Mongolian National Television implemented a “Student Exchange Program” aimed at exchanging students with students from the New Erin School in Khyalganat village, Khangal soum, Bulgan province.

  • 2015.05.12.  The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science organized an “Open Day” event at the Mongolian Center for Education and Training (MCET) with an exhibition of training programs, implementation and achievements of international laboratory schools.

  • 2015.08.26.  One teacher and four students successfully participated in the Singapore and Asian Mathematical Olympiads.

  • 2015.10.23-26.  E.Enkhtsatsral won the competition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the United Nations and made a presentation on behalf of Mongolia to the United Nations.

  • 2015.11.21.  The “Success celebration” event was organized at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and introduced the achievements and goals of the 5 years.

  • January 2016.  In order to increase the school's extracurricular activities and encourage students' participation in international activities, we have started to implement the “Savings Program” in cooperation with Golomt Bank.

  • 2016 January 26-January 30.  Successfully participated as a team in the “Korea Robot Championship 2016” held in Seoul, South Korea.

  • 2016.04.06.  In the “SASMO 2016” mathematics competition held in Mongolia, 10th grade student E. Tuvshinzaya, 11th grade student A. Gan-Erdene won a silver medal, 8th grade student B. Temuulen and 9th grade student T. Temugun won bronze medals respectively.

  • 2016.08.14-17.  10th grade student E.Tuvshinzaya, and 9b grade student B.Temulen won bronze medals at the SIMOC Asian Mathematical Olympiad in Singapore.

  • 2016.08.16-22.  E.Jagar, 12th grade student of the school, won the first silver medal of Mongolia in the World Geography Olympiad.

  • 2016.10.26-29.  International school administrators participated in the “Developing your school with Cambridge” and “Going to University with Cambridge international AS and A levels” training in Beijing and Shanghai, China.

  • 2017.04.01-10.  11th grade students of New Era School won 1st place and 12th grade students won 2nd place in the "Global Youth Young Entrepreneurship-2017" competition organized by the Development Solutions and Save the Children Foundation.

  • 2017.04.28.  The New Era International School team won 10 gold, 12 silver and 5 bronze medals at the 2017 Badminton Championships of Ulaanbaatar and took 2nd place as a result.

  • May 2017.  Students of New Era International School successfully participated in the “SASMO 2017” International Mathematical Olympiad and won 2 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals for a total of 11 medals.

  • 2017.06.03.  Organized The Mongolian Robot Championship 2017 in cooperation with the Mongolian Robot Education Association.

  • 2017.07.15-16.  T. Temugun, B. Lutbayar, P. Battulga and Ts. Gerelsuren won bronze medals in the MATH OLYMPIAD category and Ts. Gerelsuren won bronze medals in the MATH WARRIORS category at the Singapore International Mathematical Olympiad.

  • August 2017.  11th grade students E. Dulguun and B. Oyunbaatar with their IT teacher G. Iderjargal participated in the 7th International e-Icon Mobile Application Development Competition held in Busan, Korea and was awarded "Best Creativity award”.

  • 2017.11.01-07. Teachers and students of the New Era School participated in the “Japan Super Science Fair” held in Japan.

  • 2017.11.25.  Organized a lecture-concert “Classical art in children's education” in cooperation with the “State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater” and “National Art Lecture Concert” in cooperation with the” National Arts Theater”.

  • 2017.12.13.  Australian Ambassador to Mongolia John Langtry visited the school.

  • 2017.12.10-12.  Teachers and students of New Era International School successfully participated in the “Hong Kong Science Trip-2017” program.

  • 2018 January 24-25.  10th grade student T. Khangal successfully represented Mongolia at the Lokovolley International Youth Volleyball Championship in Novosibirsk, Russia.

  • 2018.02.18-25.  The team successfully participated in the “International Robotfootball Tournament 2018” held in Yokohama, Japan.

  • 2018.02.24-25.  A total of 11 school teams and athletes participated in the 2018 Ulaanbaatar Badminton Junior Championship held at the Khan-Uul District’s Sports Palace. New Era International School students won 13 Gold, 15 Silver and 10 Bronze medals. New Era International School took first place in the team event and became the BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP.

  • 2018.03.08-11  I. Saingerel, Training Manager of New Era International School, and      11th grade student B. Tuvshinsanaa, 10th grade students  I.Amina, B. Mungunbayar and E. Duluunmurun successfully represented Mongolia at the “Future We Want” Model United Nations Model Conference held in New York, USA. 

  • 2018.03.21.  As part of the New Era International School's "Earth Day" celebrations, one day was spent without electricity.

  • 2018.03.07-15.  Teachers and students of the school represented Mongolia at the UN “Future we want” model conference held in New York, USA.

  • 2018.04.01-10   11th grade student G. Anu of the New Era International School, successfully participated in the science program organized in Okinawa, Japan.

  • 2018.04.27-28.  The 16th National Thinking Olympiad was held at the school.

  • 2018.05.02.  Honorary Consul of New Zealand Mattew Hooton visits the New Era International School.

  • 2018.05.11.  Honorary Consul of Ireland Mark Sherry visited the New Era International School and met with the high school students.

  • 2018.06.17-27  Teachers and students of New Era International School successfully participated in the student exchange program in cooperation with Sanju University of Korea.

  • 2018.05.24.  New Era School won a silver medal in the “National Recorder Competition”.

  • 2018.June.28-July.28  Students of New Era International School successfully participated in the summer English language training organized in Singapore.

  • 2018.07.07-08  8th grade student E.Misheel, won a bronze medal at the SIMOC Olympiad in Mathematics held in Singapore.

  • 2018 July 15-August 6.  Students of New Era International School successfully participated in the “International Art Festival” organized by Artek Children's Camp in Russia.

  • 2018.07.21-22  10 students representing Mongolia are participating in the "Global Link Singapore 2018" conference at the National University of Singapore, and 5 students from New Era International School participated.

  • 2018.07.14-28  The Mongolian Robot Education Association and the Korean Robot Association organized a Lego Robot Regional Training Competition. The team led by 9th grade student Kh. Bat-Erdene took first place, the team led by 11th grade student
    E. Dulguunmurun took second place, and was selected to participate in the "Korean Robot Championship" that would be held in January 2019 in Seoul, South Korea.

  • 2018.07.27-31  About 660 students in grades 2-10 from 18 Asian countries, including China, South Korea and Singapore, participated in the International Junior Math Olympiad 2018, which is being held for the second year in a row in Bangkok, Thailand. Teacher Lhagvadorj and his 6 students won 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.

  • August 2018.  Harvard University's Crimson BioAcademy 2018 program selected 12 international students, including 7 students from the United States, 4 students from China, and 1 student from Mongolia. B.Boldsaikhan, a student advisor to the students of the "New Era Alumni Association", participated in the Crimson BioAcademy 2018 program on behalf of Mongolia.

  • 2018.08.31-09.11.  For the second year in a row, we have successfully implemented the “Student Exchange Program” in cooperation with Sanju High School in NamHe, South Korea. This year, 28 students and 6 teachers from Sanju Secondary School in NamHe, South Korea, stayed with Mongolian families (Homestay) and participated in programs to get acquainted with Mongolian customs and traditions.

  • 2018.09.14-21  11th grade students visited the historical and cultural monuments of Tuv, Arkhangai, Zavkhan and Uvs provinces to participate in the "NIISLEL KHUU" project jointly implemented by Uvs Food Company and New Era International School. Participated in the harvest, got acquainted with the sea buckthorn processing plant and technology, studied the life, history and culture of the pelican ethnic group, and learned about nomadic culture, life and traditions.

  • September 2018.  S. Temuulen and T .Khangal, 11th grade students of New Era International School, successfully represented Mongolia at the 8th International Children's Sports Festival in Ordos, China. The boys' national team took 1st place and the girls' national team took 2nd place respectively.

  • 2018.10.05  On the occasion of the World and Mongolian Teachers' Day the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science recognized the contribution to education reform and awarded the "LEADING SCHOOL OF REFORM" award.

  • 2018.10.22-30  10th grade student Z. Javkhlanbayar of the New Era International School, successfully participated in the Mongolian-Chinese high school basketball tournament held in Beijing, China, won first place and a trophy as a team.

  • May 2019.  New Era International School and Dream box TV co-hosted X laboratory tv show.

  • 2019.June 17-July 05.  For the third year in a row, the New Era Alumni Association has successfully organized the NESP (New Era Summer Program) program to help their juniors to get into college.

  • 2019.07.21-26.  Under the auspices of the Governor of Umnugovi Province, KHANBOGD ROBO - 2019 Lego Robot Competition was organized with the support of Oyu Tolgoi and the Gobi Oyu Development Fund. Successfully organized in Khanbogd soum.

  • 2019.07.26-30.  The Mathematics and Science Olympiad, which was attended by 1,400 top students from 21 Asian countries, was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and 8th grade student Ch. Altargana of New Era International School, won a gold medal.

  • 2019.August 29-September 15.  Teachers and students of Sanju School, NamHe Province, South Korea, came to Mongolia to participate in the “Student Exchange Program” of the New Era School

  • 2019.09.08-15.  Within the framework of the “Niislel Khuu” project implemented by New Era International School and Uvs Foods LLC, 11th grade students of the school visited historical and cultural monuments of Tuv, Arkhangai, Zavkhan and Uvs aimags, participated in Uvs Foods sea buckthorn harvesting and sea buckthorn processing. In addition to getting acquainted with the industry and technology, I studied the life, history and culture of the pelicans and the nature of nomadic culture and traditions.

  • 2019.09.29.  “SUMO ROBOT MONGOLIA-2019” robot competition was organized in cooperation with the Mongolian Robotics Association Robocon.

  • 2019.10.06-09.  B.Amartuvshin, the principal of the New Era International School, participated in an event organized by the Passive House Institute of Germany in China to study the possibility of converting the school building into an energy-efficient and smart solution, the PASSIVE model.

  • 2019.10.14.  New Era International School and the Leading School of Steel Road 20 signed a memorandum of understanding.

  • 2019.10.24.  Representatives of 12 universities from the United States, Germany, Russia, China, the Republic of Korea, Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong visited the New Era International School.

  • 2019.10.28.  According to the MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT with Umnugovi Province, Gobi Oyu Development Fund and New Era International School, Headmaster 
    I. Saingerel led the 1st team of teachers (Mathematics, Mongolian language, English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, History, Geography, Photography, Technology) who have worked and gave advice.

  • 2019.11.01-02.  Successfully organized the New Era Model United Nations.

  • 2019.11.01-02.  In collaboration with the “Civic Education Center” NGO, a “Justice” debate was successfully organized with the participation of 21 teams from secondary schools in Ulaanbaatar and 5 rural provinces.

  • 2019.11.02-03.  In the ROBOT CHALLENGE ERDENET competition organized by the “Mongolian Robot Amateur Association”, with IT teacher G. Iderjargal of New Era International School, “New era-1”, “New era-2”, “New era-3”, “New era- 4 ” teams successfully participated.

  • 2019.11.16.  In collaboration with University of Arts and Culture and State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, a lecture-concert on “CLASSIC ART-CHILDREN'S EDUCATION” for 6th grade students and parents was organized at the New Era International School.

  • 2019.11.18.  New Era International School and New Era - Alumni Association successfully organized the 5th annual “Career Survey Meeting” for the First Alumni.

  • 2019.11.23.  The National Arts Theater and the “New Era Parents” NGO successfully organized a lecture-concert “National Art in Children's Education” at the New Era School for the fourth year in a row.

  • 2019.11.24.  As part of the CULTURAL WEEK program dedicated to the historic day of the New Era International School, the 5th International Ari Romance Singing Competition named after the Hero of Labor and Folk Artist of Mongolia Tsevegjav Purevdorj was attended by 8th and 10th grade students and parents. .

  • 2019.11.30.  New Era International School's Education and Culture Department and “New Era Parents” NGO jointly organized a “Parent Friendly Competition”.

  • 2019.01.17.  New Era International School won the “Ulaanbaatar League - 2019” competition again in the senior age category and became the Double Champion School

  • 2020.01.09.  The “Sports Friendly Competition” of state-owned international schools was organized at the New Era International School.

  • 2020.01.19.  Ron, a scientist from the Passive House Institute in Germany, visited Mongolia to exchange views on a project related to the transfer of New Era international school buildings to passive technology.

  • 2020.01.25.  A memorandum of understanding was signed between the New Era International School and the Capital City Chess Association to organize a series of Chess Federation competitions at the New Era International School, and to provide chess training materials from the Capital City Chess Federation to develop the New Era International School Chess Club and agreed to provide professional support. The association donated chess tables, chairs, chess sets and clocks to the New Era International School.

  • January 2020.  Due to the Coronavirus epidemic, the State Emergency Commission imposed a curfew on educational activities.

  • 2020.01.30-31.  Due to the Coronavirus epidemic, Mongolia has imposed a curfew on its teaching activities, and has organized tele-lessons in cooperation with the Mongolian Television Association. Education TV, Eagle TV, TV5, TV8, TV9, SBN, Mongol HD TV stations started filming for grades 6-12 at the New Era International School.

  • 2020.02.06.  Met with The Ambassador of the United Kingdom PHILIP MALONE to discuss education.

  • 2020.03.05.  The Minister of Education, Culture and Science, Yo. Baatarbileg, visited the New Era International School and got acquainted with the recording of the TV lesson.

  • 2020.03.19.  Australian Ambassador DAVE VOSEN visited New Era International School and attended a Tele lesson.

  • April 2020.  New Era International School has partnered with Woowoo technology to introduce the Odoo ERP system, which is used in more than 120 countries around the world.

  • May 2020.  TV lessons. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (MECS) awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to the New Era International School in recognition of its leadership in the preparation of a teleconference conducted by the Government of Mongolia during the quarantine period due to the coronavirus epidemic.

  • June 2020.  46 students graduated from the 12th grade of the New Era International School.
